For best success you should stand in front of a mirror that allows you to see your full head and make sure that your hair is dry. If your hair is wet, then treat it to a quick blow dry or allow it to dry naturally before proceeding with the KeraFiber treatment.
Once you're in position, pick up the container of KeraFiber. Invert the container over the thinned-out section, holding it approximately four to five inches from your scalp – although this will vary depending on the severity of the thinning. You should then gently shake the container of fiber to release the hair thickening proteins. Aim to release a moderate, even layer of fiber so that it will begin bonding to your natural hair immediately. You may pat the fibers into place using your hands. Once you've covered one area, move on to the next thinning spot and apply a thin layer of hair fiber. The keratin fibers remain magnetized to your hair through static electricity, so they can move and flow just like natural hair which adds greatly to the perceived naturalness of the overall look.
After you've applied the fiber, you may comb and brush your hair as normal. To ensure a strong hold that will last all day, use a small amount of hair spray. You may touch up your hair with a comb, brush or a little extra bit of spray throughout the day if you think it is needed. If you use wet styling products, such as mousse or gel, it's best to apply these products before you use the hair fiber. However, please be sure to let the styling products dry completely before you shake the hair building fibers onto your hair to ensure best results.
Removing KeraFiber
It is just as easy to wash out as it is to put on. The proteins dissolve with your next shampoo, so to remove the fibers, gently wet your head before lathering it up with your KeraFiber shampoo. As you rinse out the suds, the protein fibers will wash out. Follow up that shampoo with our keratin thickening conditioner for a perfect look.
